I’ve spent the last five years doing e-commerce SEO for brands, and I’ve watched store owners get burned by agencies promising Page 1 rankings but delivering traffic that never converted.
Why? Wrong platform expertise, bloated keyword reports with zero revenue context, backlinks from sites nobody visits, generic retainers that weren’t built for e-commerce at all.
I’ve shortlisted 14 agencies offering SEO services with real e-commerce experience, verifiable results, and the technical expertise to handle everything from Shopify faceted navigation to category page content at scale.
If you’re a store owner who doesn’t have time to vet dozens of agencies yourself, this list does that work for you: researched, honest, and specific enough to make the decision easier.
What to Look for in an e-commerce SEO Agency
1. Platform Expertise (Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento)
Working on Paula’s Choice’s Shopify store taught me that an agency that’s great at WordPress SEO can absolutely fumble on Shopify.
The technical quirks are really different. Shopify’s URL structure forces duplicate URLs for product pages that live under collections.
This is something that trips up agencies that have never dealt with it.
WooCommerce gives you more flexibility but requires tighter configuration. Then Magento is a beast of its own entirely, especially at scale.
So, before you sign with anyone, ask them point-blank: “Can you show me a case study on my specific platform?”
Not a general e-commerce win; your platform. If they hesitate or pivot to something vague about “technical audits,” that’s your answer.
The best e-commerce agencies don’t just know SEO; they understand how it behaves differently depending on where your store is built.
2. Proven e-commerce Case Studies
Climbed from position 14 to position 3! Great. But did it move revenue?
Working on HipVan’s organic growth showed me that rankings without conversion data are just noise.
Ask for e-commerce-specific proof:
- Did organic revenue grow?
- Did category pages rank for high-intent keywords?
- Can they show product page traffic alongside conversion rate?
Generic ranking wins are easy to manufacture and even easier to present out of context. What you want to see is e-commerce-specific evidence.
If the agency can’t show you that, they may understand SEO broadly but not the e-commerce funnel specifically.
3. Technical SEO Capabilities for Large Catalogues
Large e-commerce catalogues are technically messy by nature, and that’s not a criticism. It’s just reality.
With Castlery, for instance, dealing with thousands of product and variant pages meant the crawl budget wasn’t theoretical. It was something we actively had to manage.
Faceted navigation alone, those filter options for size, color, and price, can generate hundreds of near-duplicate URLs that eat crawl budget and bloat your index overnight.
Ask your shortlisted agency:
- How they handle faceted navigation specifically.
- About their approach to canonicalization across product variants.
- How they monitor Core Web Vitals on product pages, where heavy images and third-party scripts commonly tank LCP scores.
An agency that responds with a clear, specific answer has done this before. One that responds with “we’ll run a full technical audit” is saying what every agency says.
4. Content Strategy for Product and Category Pages
Most agencies default to blog content because it’s easier to show progress on.
Ranking an informational article is more predictable than wrestling a category page to the top of a competitive SERP.
But for e-commerce, the highest-leverage content work almost always happens on category and product pages. That’s where purchase intent lives.
When evaluating agencies, ask where the majority of their content effort goes. If the answer skews heavily toward blog production, dig deeper.
- Do they optimize category page copy?
- Do they write product descriptions that are actually differentiated, not just manufacturer text reshuffled?
- And critically, is content writing included in the retainer, or is it billed?
That distinction alone can significantly change your monthly cost 😬
5. Transparent Reporting Tied to Revenue
Here’s a pattern I’ve seen too many times: a brand hires an agency, gets monthly reports full of keyword position improvements, and six months later realizes organic revenue hasn’t moved.
Rankings went up, but revenue didn’t. That disconnect usually points to one of two things.
Either it’s wrong keywords, or there’s no connection between the SEO work and actual business outcomes.
Both are agency problems. So, ask to see a sample report before signing.
It should show organic traffic trends, goal completions, and revenue attribution alongside keyword data. If it’s just a table of green arrows, it’s a vanity report.
6. Link Building Approach
Link building for e-commerce is an area where shortcuts are common and very damaging.
I’ve seen stores tank after their agency ran a low-quality directory submission campaign that looked harmless on paper.
Volume isn’t the point. A single contextual backlink from a respected home décor publication does more for a furniture brand than thirty submissions to generic business directories.
When an agency walks you through their process, listen for:
- Where they source placements
- What domain authority thresholds they target, and
- Whether they use editorial outreach or digital PR.
“A network of sites” with no further detail is a red flag. If they can’t explain their process in plain terms, assume the links aren’t worth having.
1. First Page Digital
First Page Digital is one of Singapore’s most recognized names in e-commerce SEO, and for good reason.
They’ve built a solid track record across Shopify, WooCommerce, and Magento, with case studies that go beyond rankings into actual revenue numbers.
The Gain City campaign is a standout: 219.65% YoY increase in purchases and a 72% lift in Page 1 keywords, competing head-to-head against Harvey Norman and Courts.
Over $3.8 billion in reported client revenue and a #1 ranking on Clutch gives them credibility that’s hard to argue with.
What I appreciate about First Page is the breadth of what they cover. It’s not just SEO.
They’ve launched NexSEO, a solution specifically built for AI-powered answer engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity, which shows they’re thinking beyond Google.
For e-commerce brands worried about where search is heading, that forward-thinking approach matters.
Their APAC presence and experience with clients like Under Armour and JBL make them a solid pick for brands operating at scale.

The reviews span industries from furniture to fintech, and clients consistently mention transparent reporting, open communication, and results that go beyond metrics.
One client doubled their top-ranked keywords from 13 to 26, and saw a direct jump in revenue and profit.
Another, a mortgage advisory firm, doubled their leads, cut their ad spend, and saw their ROI improve by close to 60%, with website traffic growing from 1,000 to 5,000 unique visits in five months.
One marketing manager noted that what stood out most was the team’s ability to look past SEO metrics and focus on what actually moves the business forward.
Notable Campaigns:
- Gain City vs. Harvey Norman and Courts: Gain City needed to compete organically against two of Singapore’s most dominant retailers with almost no non-branded keywords on Page 1 and weak backlink authority.First Page resolved crawlability issues, optimized content across top product categories by revenue, and secured authoritative backlinks to key pages. After 12 months: 72% increase in Page 1 keywords, 219.65% YoY increase in purchases, and a 41% increase in clicks.
- Grafunkt: Grafunkt had a strong offline reputation but almost no digital presence and was competing against established names like XTRA and Space Furniture. The strategy combined non-branded keyword targeting, technical improvements across site structure and page speed, and intent-driven content to build topical authority. The result was a 316% increase in organic conversions and 202% growth in Page 1 keywords over 12 months.
- Commune: Commune’s website architecture was actively blocking crawlers from indexing their pages.First Page rebuilt the foundations with crawler-friendly structures, structured data across product and collection pages, and a systematic internal linking setup. That delivered 200% growth in Top 3 rankings and 140% growth in Top 10 rankings.
- June Florist: Started with zero domain authority and no rankings in a competitive niche. The strategy used long-tail keyword pages to build early momentum, then funneled that link equity toward higher-volume pages.Three months in: 4x increase in clicks, 267% increase in organic conversions, and 141.7% growth in Page 1 keywords.
- Kaadas: A cluttered website and social momentum that wasn’t translating into organic search were the core problems.First Page streamlined site structure, created product comparison content to guide purchase decisions, and aligned content with real search intent.Revenue grew 200%, monthly traffic rose 82%, and 60% of target keywords landed on Page 1.

Questions to Ask Any e-commerce SEO Agency Before Signing
Before you sign anything, ask these questions out loud and listen carefully to how they answer, not just what they say.
- Do you have experience with my specific platform (Shopify, WooCommerce, or Magento)?
- Can you show me e-commerce-specific case studies with revenue data, not just ranking improvements?
- How do you handle index bloat from filtered and faceted navigation pages?
- Do you write product and category page content, or do you just provide recommendations and leave the writing to us?
- Where do your backlinks come from and how do you vet placements?
- What does your monthly report cover beyond keyword positions, and does it tie back to organic revenue?
- Are you optimising for AI Overviews and GEO in 2026, or is your strategy still built entirely around traditional blue-link rankings?
An agency that hesitates, deflects, or gives vague answers to any of these is telling you something important before the contract is even on the table.
The Agency Is Only Part of the Equation
The best e-commerce agencies are the ones that understand your platform and write or direct content that actually targets purchase intent.
They also build backlinks that move authority and report on rankings and revenue.
That said, if you asked me to point to one agency that consistently comes up in the same conversation as serious e-commerce results in Singapore, it’s First Page Digital.
Their platform expertise across Shopify, WooCommerce, and Magento, their documented campaign results across categories like furniture, electronics, and florals.
First Page Digital also has a track record of tying SEO work directly to organic revenue which is great for e-commerce businesses that are ready to grow.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which e-commerce marketing agency would you recommend?
It depends on your budget, platform, and goals. For full-suite e-commerce SEO with proven campaign results, First Page Digital is the strongest all-around option. For content-heavy strategies, OOm, and for a structured framework-driven approach, Roots Digital.
Which e-commerce marketing agency would you recommend for small budgets?
Digitrio starts from SGD $1,000/month with no lock-in contract, making them one of the most accessible options at that tier. Best SEO Singapore is also worth considering, as it’s PSG pre-approved, meaning eligible SMEs can claim up to 50% subsidy through IMDA’s SMEs Go Digital programme.
How long does e-commerce SEO take to show results?
Early movement in impressions and click-throughs typically shows up within 60 to 90 days. Meaningful organic traffic and revenue growth usually take 6 to 12 months in competitive e-commerce markets.
Do e-commerce websites need a different SEO strategy than regular websites?
Yes. e-commerce SEO requires platform-specific technical expertise, product and category schema, deliberate site architecture for large catalogues, and a clear strategy for index bloat from filter pages.
